About the Artist

David Ross is a nationally recognized artist who has been represented by galleries in New York, Nantucket, Washington DC, Long Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Santa Barbara, Atlanta, and a few others .

David Ross began doing art at a very early age and was encouraged to direct those talents towards something that would make a living, like architecture, not art. So he did, and built a successful career in architecture, eventually building his own firm and doing a lot of work and even winning a few awards.

But by 1989 he had had enough. Architecture wasn't fun anymore. In fact he felt it would probably kill him if given a little more time. In frustration he sought to create a new career.

Out of those frustrations came art. Art about everyday life. Humorous art about the everyday angst inherent in this thing we call modern life. Art others related to, and bought. He had a new career.

In 1989 David opened a gallery in Santa Barbara, California.

In 1991 David had his first national exposure with a sell out show in New York. He has been represented by galleries in a number of cities around the US. Through that exposure he attracted the attention of publisher Andrews/McMeel, and they published a book of his work in 1996.

David's portfolio now includes originals available at a few select galleries, handmade limited edition serigraphs, and posters available through a variety of galleries and sources.

David was born in Houston, Texas in 1954. He traveled the world with his family while his father did engineering work for a large company. He graduated from California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo with a degree in Architecture. David currently lives in Lake Arrowhead in California.
